Hey there!
I feel like I send out this newsletter so infrequently I should call it “INFREQUENCY” or something. Hopefully I can do a bit better at that this year, buuut- with all the work I have coming up, I can’t make any promises.
So what’s that new work you’ve been talking about on the instergrams and the x-twitters, and the blueskies?
Well, first off, I’m still all in on KAYA. That’s my baby-girl and I’m not going to let anything stop me from getting her to the finish line (which is Book 8, in case you were wondering). To facilitate these other projects, Kaya will be a touch slower coming out than previous years. But not by much, just a smidge, I promise. Part of the agreement to talking on these other projects was that the deadlines would have to be long enough that I could continue doing Kaya, and the people in charge have been gracious enough to agree. So yeah, Kaya full steam ahead!
The next arc starts in May, with some BIG drama coming your way.
And we kick it off in grand style with the incredible Peach Momoko doing duties on the variant cover (first time I’m showing this beauty right here). Order at your local comic shop now.
Like right now.
Just send them an email.
They’d love to hear from you.
On to the other two things I’m working on:
First up is a single issue adventure I’m writing and drawing that should be announced soon. I’m calling it “Project SHH” (all the cool kids have names for their unannounced stuff these days).
One hint I can give you? It’s for Skybound…
Here’s a peek:
And the second thing is a six issue series, again, written and drawn by me, with my Kaya team of colorist Jason Wordie and letterer Tom Napolitano along for the ride. It’s a dream project I’ve been wanting to do for years. It’s for DC Comics, and I’m calling it “Project 38.”
Here’s a peek at some prep work for that:
More to come soon…
